Publication Ethics Rules, Propriety and Malpractice Statement

Music – Integration – Interpretation (ISSN:1338-4872)

Introduction

Interdisciplinary title Music – Integrations – Interpretations started its history in 1994. Since then there haven’t been recorded any objections on publishing ethics of editors, editorial board, authors, nor publishers. No conflict of interest has been recorded at the editors in relation to the articles, which have been accepted or rejected. Editorial Board received research papers only on the basis of their academic value, research quality, reviewing reports. The title is funded by research grants obtained from the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Texts are being sent to reviewers by Editorial Board without stating the author's name- it’s been sent anonymously. The authors have collaborated with editors in the refinement of the data in submitted text, as well as at the concerns modification that reviewers pointed to in their reviews. Editors performed duties objectively, fairly, correctly excluding any form of discrimination (whether based on sex, race, or on the basis of sexual, religious, political orientation).

Publication Ethics, Propriety and Malpractice rules implemented in the title Music – Integrations–Interpretations

Basic requirements, financial support

  • Research text shall not have signs of plagiarism and cannot contain false information.
  • The research material may be published in one magazine only. By 2016, the University will assign DOI number to each article.
  • Release title is financed on the basis of approved research projects of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic without commercial impact of commissions or commercial practices. The work of editors, Editorial Board, reviewers and communication with authors is determined the way to obstruct illegal and unethical practices.

Following responsibilities are expected from the editors

  • To act objectively, fairly in the performance of their duties, without discriminatory evaluation outputs and discriminatory approaches to the author of the text.
  • Not to allow paper to be published if signs of plagiarism and false data are found.
  • To accept research papers on the basis of the academic value, research quality, with no commercial impact.
  • The author of the text shall be allowed to correct comments rose by the reviewers, and shall be granted the opportunity to respond to the complaints.

Following responsibilities are laid to reviewers

  • To examine script objectively and fairly.
  • Avoid any conflict of interest with the reviewed text.
  • Liability to notice whether the submitted text is similar to the other text.
  • Where appropriate, review should contain concerns that author is asked to correct.
  • Review statement should contain the approval to publish the paper or recommendation not to publish- listing the reasons.
  • Reviewer sends evaluation of the review to the editor in order to preserve assessment ethics.

The responsibility of the authors

  • Author of the research paper shall provide information that all of the data are real and authentic by means of accompanying text.
  • Research paper must be beneficial for entire research.
  • Author is obliged to fix errors pointed by reviewer’s statement or at least to comment on them.
  • Authors have the\ right to comment and make suggestions in order to improve quality of published title.

Editorial Board

  • It follows the approved rules for the adoption as well as the refusal Article.
  • It has the right to accept or reject the article, as well as the title.
